Tomáš Fischer (1961) pracuje jako vědecký pracovník na oddělení Seismiky a zároveň je profesorem Přírodovědecké fakulty Univerzity Karlovy. Zabývá se zemětřesnými roji v západních Čechách a na jihozápadním Islandu, jejich spouštěcími mechanizmy a aktivitou korových fluid. Studuje i indukovanou seismicitu a geotermální energii, vyvíjí algoritmy pro automatické zpracováním seismických dat a vyučuje několik předmětů v oboru Aplikovaná geofyzika. Vede studenty bakalářského, magisterského i doktorského studia.
