Unconsolidated sediments and weathered rocks can significantly amplify the seismic motions resulting in structural damage. Physics based interpretation of local site effects plays a&nbsp;key role in seismic hazard assessment, as in imaging of subsurface geological structures. This fundamental research will combine research experience of the team in the field of computational and observational seismology. The proposed project objective is the development of new cost and resource-efficient procedure for 3D site effect assessment. It will be based on non-invasive ambient-vibrations approach combined with 3D wave-propagation modelling applied to complex geological structures. The new approach shall be verified against seismic networks data from Japan, Switzerland, and local experiments in West Bohemia.
