CO2 Storage Pilot in a Carbonate Reservoir<\/strong><\/p>\n

Main objective of CO2-SPICER is to prepare a CO2 geological storage pilot project at the mature Zar-3 oil & gas field in the SE part of the Czech Republic up to the implementation-ready stage. To achieve this main objective, a set of partial project goals has been set:<\/p>\n

\u2022 construction of a 3D geological model of the storage complex;
\u2022 dynamic modelling simulations of CO2 injection in the reservoir using various scenarios;
\u2022 evaluation of geomechanical and geochemical properties of the storage complex;
\u2022 assessment of the risks related to CO2 storage on the pilot site;
\u2022 preparation of a Site monitoring plan;
\u2022 development of scenarios for future site development, including design of CO2 injection facilities;
\u2022 strengthening of Czech-Norwegian cooperation in the field of CCS.<\/p>\n
