Its goal is to enhance transparency in scientific work, accelerate the dissemination of knowledge, and increase its impact.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"148\" data-end=\"427\">\n<h4><strong>Open Access Publishing Models<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"464\" data-end=\"518\">There are three main ways to publish in Open Access:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"520\" data-end=\"1160\">\n<li data-start=\"520\" data-end=\"740\"><strong data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"533\">Gold OA<\/strong> \u2013 The article is published directly in an Open Access journal under an open-access license. The costs are typically covered by the authors or their institutions through an Article Processing Charge (APC).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"741\" data-end=\"936\"><strong data-start=\"743\" data-end=\"755\">Green OA<\/strong> \u2013 The author deposits a&nbsp;version of their article (preprint or postprint) into an open repository, either immediately or after the embargo period set by the publisher has expired.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"937\" data-end=\"1160\"><strong data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"958\">Hybrid journals<\/strong> \u2013 These journals combine a&nbsp;subscription-based model with the option for authors to make individual articles Open Access for a&nbsp;fee. This option is often more expensive than fully Open Access journals.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"937\" data-end=\"1160\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-start=\"1162\" data-end=\"1183\"><strong>Publication Fees<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1412\">For Gold OA and hybrid journals, publishers commonly charge a&nbsp;fee to make an article openly available. The amount varies by journal and publisher, though some institutions and grant agencies offer support to cover these costs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1412\">\n<h2 data-start=\"1414\" data-end=\"1461\">How to Publish in Springer Nature Journals<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1462\" data-end=\"1735\">Authors affiliated with the Czech Academy of Sciences can take advantage of an agreement with Springer Nature, allowing them to publish in Open Access without paying an APC in eligible journals.
