\u200bC\u00e9sar Castro is an early-career researcher working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Geophysics of the Czech Academy of Sciences since August 2024. His main project is the GA\u010cR-project (24-11150S): Structure and dynamics of shallow salt sheet extrusion investigated by means of magnetotellurics, gravity, and analog & numerical modelling. He applies the magnetotelluric (MT) method to image the Tazoult salt wall subsurface structure in the High Atlas of Morocco.<\/p>\n

C\u00e9sar is also a PhD candidate at Goethe University Frankfurt, where he\u00a0led a regional magnetotelluric study to investigate the role of rift-related active tectonics in the development of magmatic systems in Western Mexico. In 2024, he completed a postdoctoral research assistantship at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS).<\/p>\n

During his PhD, he developed MAnTiS, a robust, multivariate remote reference processing software for multi-device MT time series analysis. His current work also focuses on incorporating MAnTiS as the engine for quasi-real-time electromagnetic time series processing techniques for monitoring and understanding dynamic magmatic systems and how these processes are reflected in electromagnetic transfer functions.<\/p>\n

Another of his key interests is the development of tools for the treatment, manipulation, analysis, processing, and visualization of electromagnetic data. His experience covers the full MT workflow, from survey planning, acquisition, processing, modeling, and interpretation, and extends to most geophysical exploration methods (e.g., DC resistivity, magnetics, gravimetry). C\u00e9sar is the main developer of the FFMT software suite, used globally by more than 200 researchers:\u00a0https:\/\/www.ffmt.xyz\/<\/a><\/p>\n
