The long-standing series of meetings, dedicated to Anisotropy and Heterogeneity of the Lithosphere\u2013Asthenosphere, has been organized by the Institute of Geophysics in Czechia since 1976, and traditionally hosted in chateaux\/castles of the Czech Academy of Sciences, offering a&nbsp;unique setting that fosters scientific exchange and collaboration: in Liblice 1976, in Bechyn\u011b 1986, in T\u0159e\u0161\u0165 1996, in T\u0159e\u0161\u0165 2006, and in Prague 2016. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zamek-liblice.cz\/en\/\">Chateaux Liblice<\/a> is ~40 km north of Prague.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium;text-align: justify;\">\n  In continuity with the previous workshops, the upcoming meeting will incorporate the substantial advances achieved in the last decade. Topics of discussion will include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium; text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Scales of heterogeneity and anisotropy in the upper mantle, from regional to global perspectives<\/li>\n<li>Resolution and limitations of different inversion methods to image the lithospheric and upper mantle structures<\/li>\n<li>Mantle deformation revealed by seismic anisotropy, from both in situ measurements and laboratory experiments<\/li>\n<li>Models of anisotropic mantle fabrics resulting from both ancient and recent geodynamic processes<\/li>\n<li>Constraints from xenoliths and exposed mantle sections, offering insights into mantle texture and anisotropy<\/li>\n<li>Lithosphere\u2013asthenosphere mechanical interactions<\/li>\n<li>Imaging and interpretation of upper mantle discontinuities (MLD, LAB, 410, 660)<\/li>\n<li>Links between surface tectonic styles and underlying mantle flow<\/li>\n<li>The role of water in the generation and evolution of anisotropic structures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium;text-align: justify;\">The three full-day workshop is expected to host ~80-100 participants (max. capacity 110) from around the world. It will include several keynote lectures, e.g. by\u00a0 M. Faccenda, A. Ferreira, S-i. Karato, J. Park, B. Romanowicz, C. Rychert, B. VanderBeek etc., as well as standard contributions with recent results, or sessions with\u00a0special topics for ECR. The workshop schedule will\u00a0provide enough space for discussions. The bus will depart, most probably, from the Main railway station \u201cHlavn\u00ed n\u00e1dra\u017e\u00ed\u201d (also Metro stop on line C) at 3 p.m.  The return trip from Liblice to Prague is planed on Friday, May 29, around noon.
