His field of expertise is geothermics, with a&nbsp;particular focus on the thermal properties of rocks and soils, numerical modeling of the subsurface temperature field, and innovative ways to use geothermal energy. He is in charge of a&nbsp;state-of-the-art laboratory for studying the thermal properties of rocks and other materials, located at the RINGEN research center in Litom\u011b\u0159ice.
