He particularly focuses on periglacial landforms and surveys past and present distribution and thermal regime of active layer and permafrost in the Czech Republic and abroad. His research builds on topographic, morphometric, temperature and pedological-sedimentological data collected in field or by remote sensing, which he analyses with (geo)statistical methods and mathematical modelling. He regularly publishes the research results in prestigious international peer-reviewed journals. Occasionally, he also publishes popular texts, in which he introduces the readers to his field of science.<\/p>\n<p>He obtained his <a href=\"https:\/\/is.cuni.cz\/webapps\/zzp\/detail\/79261?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">master\u2019s<\/a> (2009\u20132011) and <a href=\"https:\/\/is.cuni.cz\/webapps\/zzp\/detail\/116033\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ph.D.<\/a> (2011\u20132020) degree in Physical Geography and Geoecology at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.natur.cuni.cz\/eng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Faculty of Science, Charles University<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, he won 3rd place in the national round of the competition for the best student scientific work in the field of geography where he was nominated after the shared 1st and 2nd place in the faculty round of the same competition. His map of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/17445647.2017.1378136\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rock Glaciers in the Western and High Tatra Mountains, Western Carpathians<\/a>, compiled in collaboration with Mgr.
