It was used for numerically demanding calculations, especially in the areas of modelling the earth&#8217;s&nbsp;hydromagnetic dynamo, propagation of seismic waves in a&nbsp;complex environment, 3D seismic tomography, seismic source of finite dimensions and nonlinear seismic source, implementation of general optimization and inversion algorithms and also a&nbsp;3D inversion of magnetotelluric data.<\/p>\n<p>We replaced NEMO by a&nbsp;new, much more powerful and more energy-efficient KRAKONO\u0160. Name &#8220;Krakono\u0161&#8221; is well known because of Krkono\u0161e Mountain fairy tales. &#8220;We wanted to give a&nbsp;name that would have a&nbsp;connection with the Czech Republic and Krakono\u0161 as a&nbsp;lord and a&nbsp;ruler of the highest Czech mountains was certainly a&nbsp;good choice. We wish the new cluster as reliable and trouble-free operation as its predecessor and that it will serve for numerically demanding modelling for as long as possible,&#8221; G.
