Seismological station Ostrava/Krásné Pole (OKC) was established in 1983. OKC is operated jointly with Technical University and Institute of Geonics CAS at the Astronomical Observatory of Johan Palisa in Ostrava. It is located in a shallow tunnel near the main building. Station OKC is equipped with both a braodband sensor and short-period seismometers suitable for recording of mining induced events in the Upper Silesia region. Institute of Geophysics installed modern datalogger Quanterra Q330S in 2011. Digital data are transferred in real time to the Institute of Geophysics. Station OKC is part of the Czech Regional Seismic Network.
