Ing. Jakub Klicpera (1985) graduated from radioelectronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the CTU Prague. He joined the Institute of Geophysics in 2011 as a technician of the seismic stations. He takes care of the maintenance and installation of seismometers and digitizers and takes care of local seismic networks WEBNET and REYKJANET and is a head of Earth observatories team.

He is pioneer of ecological powering of seismic stations from renewable sources of energy like solar panels and wind generators. He contributed in installing modern data transfer technologies such as mobile 4G/LTE.

Apart from expert work in the field he also participates in popularization of science, especially related to the seismic swarms in West Bohemia and Iceland and was importantly involved in opening the Seismic exhibiton in Skalná. His popularization of local seismic network REYKJANET can be found in Lonely Planet tourist guide.
