I joined the Institute of Geophysics in October 2021. My research focus lies on subduction zone mineralogy and its role in subduction zone seismicity. Presently, I am concentrating on seismic tomography models for the downgoing Nazca slab in Northern Chile. The wavespeed information from local earthquake tomography will be related to mineralogical reactions at different depths and the P-T conditions of the subduction zone. Understanding the mineralogical processes in turn can provide better insights into the seismological processes inside the slab.

I earned my master’s degree (2020) in Geological Sciences from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Kolkata, India. My dissertation was on Ultra-high temperature metamorphism at the Eastern Ghats Belt, India, using petrographic evidence and mineralogical data from sapphirine granulites.
