We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on a project funded by the Czech Science foundation which objective is to use a complex system approach to model magmatic systems. The project involves building a database of the characteristics of magmatic systems, building a network model of a volcanic plumbing system, and developing numerical models to investigate how the elements of the network connect and how magma flows through the network.
We are looking for a numerate early career researcher with experience in the study of magmatic systems and a strong interest in statistics and modelling.
We are looking for the following skills:
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Good knowledge of magmatic systems
- Experience in programming
- Good mastering of oral and written English
- Scientific curiosity and scientific rigour
The postdoctoral researcher will be based in Prague (Czech Republic) at the Institute of Geophysics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The researcher will work in a transdisciplinary team of Earth scientists, mathematicians, and complex system scientists.
